you need to add extra mosfets,
talk to PuRpS, or do a search on 2X150 mods..

------------------
'96 Mirage
Rockford RFX9300 deck
Rockford FNP 2614 splits (soon to be rear fill)
Alpine MRP-T130s front stage amp (soon to be rear fill amp)

What?no subs?
Being installed: Focal 165W3's
Vrx 2.150 & 1.500

i'm not sure but i dont think the jaycar 2x150 can run a 2 ohm. Any how, you connect 2 vc to one channel. Running the positive off a single channel over the two positive conacts of the vc's and the negative of the single channel over the two negative contacts of the vc's.
I'd suggest you wait until someone can clarify whether the 2x150 jaycar amp can handle it though.

if you have the 2x150 .. mod it appropriately and it'll happily run 2ohm for daily driving.

purps had theirs running HARD for a few hours before it shat itself.

but if u do want a new amp which is 2 ohm stable .. then look into the kicker ZRs .. they are preceded so if u can find out you'll get em for a good price. methinks they are best value for money.

and in order to get the amp the 'see' the 2ohm load bridged .. just do what 4subhatch said.

basically .. just wire 2 4ohm VCs (whether it be 2 4ohm SVC subs or a DVC sub with 4ohm VCs) in parrallel.

are you saying that the jaycar cant do 2ohm/channel (4ohm bridged), cos i think u'll find it can do that..... it cant do 1ohm/channel (2ohm bridged) unless u mod it (ask purps or some1 like that, theyve done it all B4)

Been running mine at 2 ohm mono for a couple of weeks now no worries, although its got some fans on it http://www.caraudioaustralia.com/ubb/smiles/smile.gif gains are only on half... can't wait to open it up for a meter http://www.caraudioaustralia.com/ubb/smiles/biggrin.gif

wldwagon: do you know what you plan to run with the amp?

you could also consider the new alpine class D MRD-M300 rated at 1x300WRMS into 2ohm, RRP$599. note that this will be at least a genuine 300WRMS when driving subs; most wimpy amps drop off their power outputs powering subs with subbass frequencies.

however the old ZR kickers are indeed great too.

good luck http://www.caraudioaustralia.com/ubb/smiles/smile.gif

yeah it would be interesting to see if someone actually benchmarked a jaycar 2x150 in 2ohm bridged and see what it actually puts out at subbass levels.

if you don't know how to use it, i certainly wouldn't be mucking around with one. not only are they sensitive, expensive pieces of equipment, i believe they can be very dangerous too (= electricution).

but sure, get your dad to help out. you can use it to visualise power outputs by using it as a voltmeter. you'll get a very scrappy signal unless you use nice test tones (simple sine waves). from the screen you can measure off voltage, and i figure if you can also meaure current, you can calcultate watts. at least i figure it's that easy. haven't used one since high school. http://www.caraudioaustralia.com/ubb/smiles/laugh.gif
